My Film Job

I think the jobs I would like to have in a film company would be the the director or one of the actors. I would like to be the director because I think I have great ideas as to how to put more meaning into a shot. I think directing a film can also be a very fun job to do and it interests me. I personally like things to come out the best they can and being a director gives me some of the control of how the film will come out. I would also like to be one of the actors because I always thought it  was fun to participate in a film.

My review of The Elephant Man

"The Elephant Man" is a great movie with a lot of meaning behind it. The most fascinating part of the movie is learning that it is based on a true story. Although the movie was made in black and white it is still a great movie at the time it released, the black and white itself suits the movie. I find that John Hurt really portrayed John Merrick's character in a highly realistic way, after hours of make-up he really was John Merrick not John Hurt. I feel that as a person everyone who has watched this movie cant finish it and find Merrick a hideous freak, but instead the movie makes you see him as what he is, a human being. It teaches us the life lesson of not judging someone for their looks but for the content of their character. The movie makes you see who the real freaks are, it is not Merrick but the people that see him as a freak are the real freaks. The movie shows us the evil in humanity when we see something different, in a way it tells us how we cant accept differences between us, we discriminate. I feel the movie is a great complex movie to watch, and highly recommended.

My Name Is John Merrick

It had been a good day as I received news from Dr. Treves and Mothershead that I can stay permanently at the hospital. It made me really happy to learn about this as I had grown accustomed to the room. I had fell in love with the cathedral tower that was visible and now knew I would have the time to finish my Cathedral of cardboard. DR. Treves and Mothershead presented me with a gift, it was a nice shiny dressing case. I spent the day using my new dressing case and admiring Ms. Kendall's picture. I was having a blast but my day was shattered by the Night Porter, he brought a bunch of people to my room. They were drunk, and made me feel like a freak again, it was torture, they didn't harm me but it was just awful. I was relieved when they all left, but to my surprise Bytes had snuck into my room also and he took me away again.

Welcome to my nightmare...

I am bad at remembering dreams, I could have just woke up and I forget what the dream was about. Although there was one dream I do remember from when I was smaller. It is a weird dream and it changes settings in a snap its just plain weird. It starts off as a trip to the park with my family and us having a good time. We then went for a walk and as we were walking out of nowhere we were in like a train station with some factory warehouses next to it. For some reason I decided to separate from the group and look around the corner of a building into an alley. There was some cholo looking guys there doing what I remember as illegal stuff and they let some dogs run loose to catch me. I began to run and somehow ended up inside a warehouse full of boxes. I started climbing the boxes to get away from the dogs and there was more cages of dogs along the way up. In the end one dog ended up biting my leg off and one of the main guys shot me and thats when I woke up. What scared me was I couldn't feel my leg, so in a way it made me think if what had happened was just a recap and I didnt have a leg but when I pulled the cover my leg was there it just had fallen asleep. I think I watched too much t.v and movies that day because that dream was just bizarre.

Compassionate Science

There are various sciences to start with, and all can be used for compassionate reasons. I think using the knowledge someone learns and sharing it to better someone else's life like in the video is really what compassionate science is about. Compassionate science is done expecting nothing in return, because if you expect a reward it defeats the purpose. I think through compassionate science we can help many people and not just people around us but globally.

The Future

In a good 1,000 years in which I will be long gone I think the world is going to become permanently attached to technology. People will literally be doing everything through some type of technology. Sports will be played robotically, food will be made in a microwave, and walking will really just be hovering around. I think school will be replaced with scanners that implant K-12 and college course teachings into the brain. I think the future holds a huge line between being poor and wealthy. I think in this future parts of earth will be dead and uninhabitable due to past years pollution. In those places will live the poor and unfortunate. While the rich lives in the clean places left of earth and enjoy themselves of all new and upcoming technology. Which in the long run will cause war and humanity will drive the world to the ground in the end.

Escaped a Spanking

The funniest moment I can think of is a story my brother and I always remember of when we were kids and used to live in Mexico. We were small but still remember that day and laugh about it all the time. It was a regular day and my uncle and cousins had come over and we were messing around the house. The part I really cant remember is what my cousin, brother and I did wrong. So basically My uncle grabbed all three of us for that one reason I cant remember and took us into the room and started to scold us. Now back in Mexico parents tend to grab a belt and spank us, sounds horrible but it has made me a good kid. So as my uncle was furious, screaming at us getting all worked up he starts unbuckling his belt. Once its out he folds in half and tells us who's gonna go first. Then everything went silent but at that exact moment someone let one rip, we start looking around at each other and make sense that it was my uncle who let it go. At this point as kids we just found farts hilarious and we couldn't help laughing. I guess he couldn't stay serious and gave us a quick mexican cuss word and put his belt back on and thats how we avoided a spanking. Not sure why but remembering that day just makes us laugh and well brings back old memories.

Modern Times

Modern Times was the first Charlie Chaplin movie I ever watched, I really liked the film it has a lot of message to it. As we broke down the film Chaplin was really ahead of his time and knew how to connect with the people through his films. In the movie he was an optimistic character and always found a way of making things better. I also liked the way he portrayed one of his own life problems in the movie, which was when the police arrested him for being "communist". I just really liked the way Chaplin must have made people smile in his movie. I know I cant fully relate to what is happening in the movie but the way he acts it out makes you feel connected to it. I really liked this first film and makes me want to watch more of his movies and break them down.

Bullying

As many others i feel bullying is wrong and a horrible thing to do to any person. I think a person who bullies others is really themselves scared and insecure so they pretend to be someone tough so no one would mess with them. A bully sometimes is a person who is also bullied, and they take their anger out negatively on others. Although their might be reason like such as to why people bully each other it doesn't change the fact that it is wrong. It shouldn't be done and if seen it should be stopped. Sometimes the bully themselves might need help they cant find.

Favorite Movie

Personally I like watching movies that involve cars especially muscle cars. Out of all the car movies I've watched my favorite has to be "Gone in 60 Seconds". This movie is just about a brother having to steal different cars for a man that his little brother owes money to or he will be killed. The main actor Nicholas Cage plays the role of the older brother and master car thief. He gathers up in a way his A-team to start crossing off cars from the list. Why I like the movie so much is because of the last car he has to steal. He must steal the Eleanor which is a GT 500 Ford Mustang which is my dream car, and in the movie they made it look majestic. It was just pure beauty seeing the car lose the cops so easily being a really fast car i just love watching that scene over and over. The only thing I hate was that the car was crushed and completely destroyed but at the end he got his own to start fixing up.
