Week of June 12th

This week we had the our film festival in which I got to attend 3 different times watching films I had never seen before and that were very good and others that weren't as good. My film Death of A Paisa got people laughing and calling me paisa all over school. I personally liked my Beer Pong PSA, The Wingman, and Fish and Jenni. It was a lot of fun finally experiencing Bell High's film festival since before I wasn't able to attend since I would be off track by then, and it was also a great feeling getting a good response to your own work.

Week of June 5

This week I completed my chore exactly today. We have been working in editing our second film since we feel we don't need anymore shots.

Week of May 22nd

This week we won the festival that took place over the weekend, felt proud. Aside from that we finished our storyboards and started to film as planned. I got sick this week so I've been a bit unproductive but still here, I hope we finish up quick to get to our next film.

Week of May 15th

This week we have worked on the story and storyboards getting everything ready to start filming hopefully next week. We are behind but we are trying to catch up so we can have our film festival.

My Birthday Week (May 8th)

This week we have been throwing around ideas as to our next film. We keep lagging on actually doing anything and it scares me a bit that we can't decide what to do next. We had a good idea going but group felt it was too complicated so we back to square one. I accomplished my chore on thursday and was almost it.

Week of May 1st

This week my group has been discussing some ideas for our next film.  I have been trying to make some ideas work but we haven't pitched anything yet to Mr. Lansdown. I feel we are seriously falling behind but I at least did my chore today.

Week of April 24th

This week we have just been working on editing our film and putting in the last touches. This friday we turned in everything and changed our film a bit to focus on the consequences of drinking and driving. we did so with the help of Mr. Lansdown and i feel it could have been a better film but we always have a next one to look up to.

Week of April 17

This week we really haven't done much filming in my production company. We have been, or at least Chris has been editing our film to cut down on time because the goal was for it to be a PSA. I have been there next to him helping him edit and giving suggestions as to what music we should put and what scenes we can cut or speed up. Besides my own film I helped my friends Martin, and Kelvin on their film yesterday. I completed and signed off my chore today and that has been my week for film class.

What Music Means to Me

Music to me as I have stated before is the second of my two anti-drugs. I use it to get away at times when I cant go and do exercise. I find music to be very touching and at times the lyrics of songs go with what situation you might be facing. Thats why I think a lot of people find music to be an anti-drug or just plainly like listening to music. Its because of the connection sometimes the song might make to ones own life. I think music is great and a great resource to do various things like just relax, to getting pumped up, to when you in love, or mad. I think just all around music connects with people and thats why we listen to it, no matter what might be your taste you listen to something. I think to me music is my escape to my own place, where I can think and figure things out or just reminisce sometimes.

Problems & Struggles

I think throughout four years in high school students face various amounts of problems and difficulties. Most go through some of the basic and common ones like that of trying to fit in, being peer pressured, and basic school stresses. Others go through more uncommon struggles like that of being a pregnant teen, although it is becoming more an more common when it comes down too it not many actually experience what it is to be a teen mom. I think being offered drugs is also a very big problem during teen years, more and more teens are found to be doing drugs. I also think the stress of what will happen to you after high school is a struggle all students go through. It is the beginning of the next series of decisions you will have to make that will determine your future. It is almost your introduction to the real world and adulthood, it is when you have to start becoming completely independent.

The Most Interesting Person in the World

The most interesting person I know would have to be my dad. I think the stories of his life have always been interesting to me and always teach me something along the way. I find my dad to be the most interesting because no matter how old I get he always happens to know how to do things I never had a clue he can do. He is a very hands on kind of guy and I think thats why I like being that way too. He teaches me a lot of things that help me become more independent each day and thats why he is so interesting to me. I think to my eyes he's more than just the most interesting to me he is a super being. Might sound childish but thats what i see him as, he just has this inner strength like no other and such self control and patience.  I kind of want to be like him and grow up to be such a great man and father as he is today.

My Anti-Drug

I think what I have used to stay out of trouble or to calm me down at times has been sports and music. Sports has mainly been my anti-drug and by sports it really just means getting out and doing some exercise like shooting hoops, throwing the ball around, and running. I think exercise itself helps me feel relief and at times helps me think clear. Just getting my blood pumping is what you can call my fix. Of course not all the time I can just go out for a run or stuff like that so thats when I rely on music to calm me down. I like listening to my music and just dosing of on the beat, and the lyrics. I just in a way like letting the music take me and find a place for myself to think a place of my own. Thats basically what I look for, a place of my own for me to think and that is basically what I achieve in both of my anti-drugs.

An Inconvenient Truth

Before watching An Inconvenient Truth I had some knowledge of global warming, that of what causes it and that yes it is bad for the environment. I think Gore did a swell job of proving his point through his extended studies and statistical research. He made what I already knew a bit more clear and showed the consequences realistically speaking. I think he really exemplified the dangers of our human actions on our earth and how ignoring it will not help but speed up the process. I think he changed my perspective a bit on how serious the matter is, and now I really see it as something that should be taken action on. I think now that this problem is a huge one to overcome but the sooner we take action the more probability we have of overcoming it. I know that now there are various methods of helping the environment that businesses, schools, and even house owners are doing. I am aware that the public is a little more aware today of the problem but by passing on the movie, it can still get those unaware to see whats going on.
